As part of the Commercial Business Division, the role will support the end‑to‑end compliance and onboarding process, management of the team, ensuring all placements meet legal, operational, and client‑specific requirements.

Team Management & Development
  • Identify business objectives and critical success factors to support team members in the delivery of their activities.
  • Agree individual objectives with team members setting clear review schedules and performance guidelines.
  • Maintain regular monitoring of these objectives between the reporting periods.
  • Responsible for the half year and/or annual appraisals of all direct reports within their sphere of responsibility.
  • Ensure every member of the business unit has current and up to date promotional criteria in place.
  • Complete regular reviews and present forecasted promotions to the leadership team at each budget review (H1 & H2).
  • In conjunction with the Learning & Development business unit and the staff's Development Coaches, provide knowledge and guidance to achieve required competency levels.

It is the responsibility and accountability that the below tasks are delivered by their direct (and indirect) reports, and when necessary by themselves:

Route to Market Compliance
  • Responsible for the development and maintenance of commercial route‑to‑market frameworks, including supporting checklists.
  • Respond to legal and technical queries related to route‑to‑market decisions.
  • Organise team to conduct audits (in conjunction with the Associate Director Legal) to ensure adherence to approved commercial routes.
Client Role Profile & Setup
  • Perform client due diligence checks in line with internal standards.
  • Assess employment status for each role to ensure correct classification.
  • Confirm the appropriate route to market for each engagement.
  • Review and implement Client Service Requirements.
Client Statements of Work (SOWs) & Purchase Orders (POs)
  • Review, approve, and log new and extension SOWs/POs in Bullhorn.
Candidate Compliance Checks
  • Carry out compliance checks in accordance with route‑to‑market checklists.
  • Confirm completion of all required compliance checks prior to placement.
Professional References
  • Liaise with the Sales team to obtain reference provider details.
  • Once an onboarding system has been identified and implemented, upload reference information into this onboarding system.
  • Manage communications with both reference providers and candidates.
  • Approve candidate placements in Bullhorn.
  • Generate contracts using the Automation and AI tools integrated with Bullhorn (currently in development; contract raising completed manually at present).
  • Upload finalised contracts into the appropriate systems/locations.
Candidate Queries & Onboarding
  • Issue contracts and manage candidate communications throughout the onboarding process.
  • Respond to general candidate queries.
  • Escalate legal or technical queries to the Legal Business Unit as appropriate.
  • Ensure all documentation is received prior to contractor start date.

  • Represent the company, always adopting the highest possible standards of professionalism.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

To succeed in this particular role, you will need to be well organised and be able to think on your feet to work quickly and effectively. You should also be a confident communicator as this role will involve constant interaction with a range of different people and personalities.

  • Proven experience in onboarding contractors in the UK, USA and EU.
  • Experience of using a technology-based onboarding system and proficient in use of Bullhorn.
  • Ability to review from a legal perspective contractor contracts.
  • Strong commercial acumen and a pragmatic approach to legal problem‑solving.
  • Knowledge of legislation impacting the recruitment sector such as IR35; labour leasing; cross border working; worker’s misclassification; A1 certificates etc.
  • Proven experience of managing a team of at least 3 people.
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment and thrive in a constantly evolving landscape.
  • Ability to commit to the organisation’s mission and goals by showing dedication and perseverance in day‑to‑day work and goal achievement.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills with the gravitas to influence at all levels.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with clients, contractors and work colleagues.
