Your diagnostic skills are specialist. Your next contract should be too. CAMHS Professionals are specialist mental health recruiters, and our client is looking for ADOS / ADI-R Clinicians to join them. This is a remote position nationwide.
Pay Rate: Up to £540 per assessment
Day-to-day responsibilities will include:
- Conducting ADI-R (Autism Diagnostic Interview — Revised)
- Administering and scoring the ADOS-2 (Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule)
- Integrating ADI-R and ADOS-2 findings with wider clinical information to contribute to diagnostic formulations
- Participating in diagnostic consensus meetings with MDT colleagues including psychiatrists, psychologists, and speech and language therapists
- Producing detailed, high-quality written diagnostic reports to agreed standards and timescales
- Communicating diagnostic outcomes sensitively and clearly to young people, families, and carers
- Supporting post-diagnostic pathways including signposting to appropriate services and resources
- Maintaining accurate clinical records and documentation in line with professional standards
- Contributing to peer supervision, quality assurance, and service development
What we need from you
Essential:
- Relevant professional registration (NMC or HCPC)
- Formal training in ADI-R administration and scoring (training certificate required)
- Formal training in ADOS-2 administration and scoring across relevant modules (training certificate required)
- Demonstrable experience conducting autism assessments
- Strong report writing skills — ability to produce clear, detailed diagnostic reports
Desirable (but not always required):
- Experience with co-occurring presentations such as ADHD, anxiety, or learning disability
- Competency in additional neurodevelopmental assessment tools (e.g. ABAS, VABS, cognitive assessments)
- Experience presenting at diagnostic feedback meetings and supporting families post-diagnosis
- Supervisory experience in autism assessment or neurodevelopmental pathways
- Knowledge of local and national autism diagnostic frameworks and waiting list pressures
