CAMHS Professionals is recruiting on behalf of a growing neurodevelopmental healthcare service delivering high-quality, evidence-based ADHD, Autism, and mental health care for adults and children.

About the Opportunity

Our client is seeking a motivated and collaborative Psychiatrist to join their team at an exciting stage of development. This role offers the opportunity to support both clinical delivery and service development in a modern, patient-centred environment aligned with NICE, GMC, and NHS best practice within a CQC-regulated service. You'll benefit from robust assessment pathways, pre-assessment data, comprehensive medication protocols, and multidisciplinary team support — while enjoying flexibility and clinical autonomy.

Core Purpose

Deliver high-quality ADHD, Autism, and mental health diagnostic assessments and medication management for adults, working within established organisational protocols and pathways.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive ADHD assessments in line with NICE NG87
  • Review referral information, screening outcomes, and collateral evidence
  • Complete structured psychiatric assessments including developmental history, MSE, and full risk/safeguarding assessment
  • Formulate clear diagnostic outcomes and identify comorbidities
  • Initiate and manage ADHD medication, including full titration and monitoring
  • Produce clear, timely clinical reports
  • Provide psychoeducation to patients and families
  • Attend MDT meetings and liaise with GPs for shared-care arrangements
  • Maintain documentation in line with GMC and governance standards

Essential Criteria

  • GMC registration with licence to practise
  • CCT/CESR in Psychiatry or Specialty Doctor with significant ADHD experience
  • Proven experience in Adult ADHD assessment and medication management
  • Strong knowledge of NICE guidelines and shared-care arrangements
  • Ability to work independently within a structured service model

Desirable

  • Experience with Autism Spectrum Condition assessments in adults
  • Experience managing comorbid mental health conditions
  • NHS Adult ADHD service or equivalent independent practice experience
  • Interest in service development
