CAMHS Professionals is recruiting on behalf of a growing neurodevelopmental healthcare service delivering high-quality, evidence-based ADHD, Autism, and mental health care for adults and children.
About the Opportunity
Our client is seeking a motivated and collaborative Psychiatrist to join their team at an exciting stage of development. This role offers the opportunity to support both clinical delivery and service development in a modern, patient-centred environment aligned with NICE, GMC, and NHS best practice within a CQC-regulated service. You'll benefit from robust assessment pathways, pre-assessment data, comprehensive medication protocols, and multidisciplinary team support — while enjoying flexibility and clinical autonomy.
Core Purpose
Deliver high-quality ADHD, Autism, and mental health diagnostic assessments and medication management for adults, working within established organisational protocols and pathways.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive ADHD assessments in line with NICE NG87
- Review referral information, screening outcomes, and collateral evidence
- Complete structured psychiatric assessments including developmental history, MSE, and full risk/safeguarding assessment
- Formulate clear diagnostic outcomes and identify comorbidities
- Initiate and manage ADHD medication, including full titration and monitoring
- Produce clear, timely clinical reports
- Provide psychoeducation to patients and families
- Attend MDT meetings and liaise with GPs for shared-care arrangements
- Maintain documentation in line with GMC and governance standards
Essential Criteria
- GMC registration with licence to practise
- CCT/CESR in Psychiatry or Specialty Doctor with significant ADHD experience
- Proven experience in Adult ADHD assessment and medication management
- Strong knowledge of NICE guidelines and shared-care arrangements
- Ability to work independently within a structured service model
Desirable
- Experience with Autism Spectrum Condition assessments in adults
- Experience managing comorbid mental health conditions
- NHS Adult ADHD service or equivalent independent practice experience
- Interest in service development
