Essential Requirements

  • A recognised professional qualification in counselling, psychotherapy, psychology or mental health (e.g., BACP, HCPC or UKCP registered).
  • Minimum 3 years’ post-qualifying experience working with children and young people with complex needs.
  • Proven experience of delivering 1:1 therapy and/or clinical supervision.
  • Experience of working within or alongside residential children’s homes or similar trauma-informed services.
  • A strong understanding of safeguarding, child development, attachment theory, and trauma recovery models.

Desirable Skills

  • Accredited or trained in at least one evidence-based model (e.g., PACE, DBT, EMDR, DDP, or similar).
  • Training and facilitation experience with mixed-professional groups.
  • Experience contributing to Ofsted inspections or regulatory frameworks.
