Occupational Therapist – Mental Health
Location: North London
Contract Type: 6-month contract
Hours: Part-time or Full-time available

About the Role
CAMHS Professionals is recruiting for a qualified Occupational Therapist to join a mental health service in North London. Our client is seeking an experienced therapist to manage a caseload of patients with complex needs. This is an excellent opportunity to make a real difference in patients' lives while working as part of a collaborative multidisciplinary team.
Essential Requirements
- HCPC registration (current and valid)
- Previous mental health experience
- Degree or equivalent qualification in Occupational Therapy
Key Responsibilities
Clinical Practice
- Manage a caseload of patients with complex mental health needs using evidence-based, patient-centered approaches
- Conduct comprehensive assessments using specialist tools including MOHO assessments
- Plan and deliver individual and group therapy interventions
- Consider both physical and mental health needs in all assessments
- Promote social inclusion, recovery, and relapse prevention
Team Collaboration
- Work as an integral member of the multidisciplinary team
- Participate in care planning and clinical decision-making
- Communicate effectively with patients, carers, and partner agencies
- Provide education and training to patients, carers, and staff
Service Development
- Contribute to service planning, development, and evaluation
- Participate in audit projects and research activities
- Support quality improvement initiatives and clinical governance
- Engage in reflective practice and promote best practice standards
Professional Standards
- Maintain accurate documentation in line with professional standards
- Prepare specialist reports and risk assessments
- Ensure all safeguarding procedures are followed
- Comply with COT Code of Ethics and Professional Conduct

About You
You'll be a registered Occupational Therapist with demonstrated experience in mental health settings. You'll have strong clinical reasoning skills, the ability to work independently while contributing to team goals, and a commitment to evidence-based practice and patient-centered care.
You'll be comfortable managing complex cases, conducting risk assessments, and promoting equality and diversity in all aspects of service delivery.
