About the Role
We are seeking a qualified and experienced
Psychotherapist to join our team, supporting children, young people and families affected by trauma and complex needs.
The role involves managing a caseload and delivering therapeutic assessments, interventions and reviews.
You will work collaboratively with young people, families, schools and multi-agency professionals to achieve positive outcomes and ensure a safe, trauma-informed approach.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage a caseload of children, young people and families.
- Complete therapeutic assessments and develop individual intervention plans.
- Deliver 1:1 and group therapeutic interventions.
- Work collaboratively with parents, carers, schools and other professionals.
- Attend and contribute to multi-agency and review meetings.
- Provide professional consultation, training and support where appropriate.
- Complete professional reports, including progress, discharge and EHCP reports.
- Maintain accurate and confidential clinical and case records.
- Identify and respond appropriately to safeguarding concerns.
- Participate in supervision, CPD, team meetings and service development.
- Promote a trauma-informed, inclusive and child-centred environment.
About You
You will have
- A recognised diploma/qualification in
Counselling, Psychotherapy, Social Work, Family Support or a related therapeutic discipline .
- Professional membership with an appropriate governing or accredited body.
- Experience working therapeutically with children, young people and families .
- Knowledge of trauma, attachment, child development, safeguarding and neurodiversity .
- Experience completing therapeutic assessments and professional reports.
- Experience of multi-agency working.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organisational, interpersonal and problem-solving skills.
- The ability to work independently while contributing effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
Experience within
Children’s Services, therapeutic/counselling settings, or trauma-informed practice is highly desirable.
