CAMHS Professionals is recruiting a CCT-qualified Child & Adolescent Psychiatrist to deliver ADHD assessments within a school-based setting in Guildford. This is a rewarding and varied role, working directly with children and young people in their everyday educational environment, supported by school staff and a wider clinical team.
You will carry out comprehensive ADHD assessments, provide diagnostic formulations, and offer clinical guidance to support the wellbeing and educational progress of pupils. CCT RequirementCCT qualification in Child & Adolescent Psychiatry is a mandatory requirement for this role. Candidates must hold full GMC registration with a licence to practise and be listed on the Specialist Register. Extensive experience in assessing and diagnosing ADHD in children and young people is essential.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct comprehensive ADHD assessments for children and young people within a school setting
- Gather collateral history from parents, carers, and school staff as part of the diagnostic process
- Provide clear diagnostic formulations and recommendations, including management plans where appropriate
- Liaise closely with school SENCOs, teachers, and external agencies to support pupil outcomes
- Produce well-structured clinical reports within agreed timeframes
- Contribute to safeguarding processes and adhere to relevant child protection procedures
- CCT in Child & Adolescent Psychiatry – essential
- Full GMC registration with licence to practise and inclusion on the Specialist Register
- Significant experience assessing and diagnosing ADHD in children and young people – essential
- Comfortable working within a school or community-based environment
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills when engaging with young people, families, and educators
- Up-to-date knowledge of NICE guidelines for ADHD diagnosis and management
- Enhanced DBS check required (or willingness to obtain)
- Experience with rating scales (e.g. Conners, SNAP-IV) desirable
Guildford, Surrey. This is an on-site, school-based role. Candidates should be able to commute to Guildford reliably.
