SEN Teaching Assistant – Greenwich Location: Greenwich, South East London Job Type: Full-time / Part-time opportunities available Salary: £95 - £105 per day Start Date: Immediate / ASAP Are you passionate about supporting children and young people with special educational needs? We are looking for dedicated SEN Teaching Assistants to join a specialist SEN school in Greenwich, supporting pupils with a range of additional needs and helping them to achieve their full potential. The Role As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with teaching staff and the wider school team to provide tailored support to pupils throughout the school day. Your responsibilities will include: Supporting pupils with their learning and development, both individually and in small groups Helping to create a positive, safe and inclusive learning environment Supporting pupils with a range of special educational needs Encouraging communication, confidence, independence and social development Assisting teachers with classroom activities and lesson preparation Providing emotional and behavioural support where required Helping pupils to manage transitions and changes throughout the school day Building positive, trusting relationships with pupils Supporting pupils to develop essential life and educational skills Following individual learning plans, behaviour strategies and safeguarding procedures About You We are looking for someone who is: Patient, caring and compassionate Passionate about working with children and young people Confident supporting pupils with additional needs Calm and resilient when faced with challenging situations Able to build positive relationships with pupils, staff and families A strong communicator and team player Reliable, proactive and willing to learn Committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children Previous experience working within an SEN setting is desirable, but we are also keen to hear from candidates with transferable experience from care, youth work, education, support work or similar environments.
