Camgrain Stores Limited is the UK's largest farmer-owned grain storage co-operative. We provide seamless supply-chain integration for our farmer-members from combine to the end user through our three strategically positioned, Advanced Processing Centres (APC's) across Central England.

We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic Fabrication Welder Apprentice to join our Engineering Team. This is an excellent opportunity to develop a rewarding career within a modern agricultural grain storage business while gaining nationally recognised engineering qualifications.

Main Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Learn safe fabrication and welding techniques under supervision.
  • Manufacture, repair and modify steel components for plant and equipment.
  • Assist with MIG and MMA welding on a variety of engineering projects.
  • Support preventative maintenance programmes across the grain storage facility.
  • Carry out equipment inspections and identify defects.
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings and technical information.
  • Learn to use fabrication equipment including:
    • Pillar drills
    • Bandsaws
    • Grinders
    • Hand tools
  • Assist with installation of new plant and machinery.
  • Maintain high housekeeping standards within the workshop.
  • Follow company health, safety and food safety procedures at all times.
  • Work alongside the engineering team during planned maintenance and breakdowns.
  • Complete apprenticeship coursework and attend college/training provider as required.

Training Outcome:

Career progression opportunities on successful completion of the apprenticeship, with the potential to progress into a permanent Fabrication Welder/Engineer role.
