SUMMARY
We are looking for a selfāmotivated, personable fullātime permanent Field Service Technician. You will provide expert guidance, analysis, and solutions related to dust collection systems and industrial air quality. Your expertise will help clients implement new dust collection systems, optimise existing systems, ensure regulatory compliance (particularly for combustible dust), and enhance workplace safety and environmental sustainability.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Utilise your specialised expertise in the service and evaluation of dust collector systems to provide valuable insights and guidance to clients.
- Collaborate closely with clients involved in hazardous material handling, especially in chemical and combustible dust manufacturing.
- Evaluate and identify other nonāCamfil dust collection and HVAC systems in relation to the above relationships with service sales and filter sales for that equipment.
- Lead and conduct thorough collector installations and hazard assessments of existing collection systems, including combustible dust hazard analysis (DHAs) and related services.
- Provide maintenance service on all types of dust, mist and wet collectors, including filter changeāouts and onāsite troubleshooting.
- Collaborate with clients and factory teams to offer insights into combustible dust applications and onāsite evaluations of existing dust collection systems or possible future dust collection sites.
- Deliver comprehensive training to external contractors, equipping their staff with the knowledge to service and maintain dust collection equipment effectively on Camfil related systems.
- Cost estimate possible service hours and materials for potential service jobs.
- Utilise your strong communication skills to cultivate and enhance customer relationships, thereby driving further business growth.
- Work with Camfil APC New England sales team to identify potential sales opportunities.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Associates degree or equivalent from a twoāyear college or technical school with HVAC training and certification is preferred. Minimum requirement: High School diploma or equivalent with 3ā5 years of handsāon experience in construction or field services, specifically with a focus on industrial ventilation within manufacturing environments.
- Must be able to solve practical problems in varied, lowāstandardisation situations.
- Ability to interpret a variety of written, oral, diagram, or schedule instructions.
- Competence in reading and explaining PFDs, P&IDs, and equipment drawings.
- Able to sit and occasionally stand and walk for the duration of the shift.
- Must occasionally lift or move up to 50 pounds.
- Aboveāaverage reading comprehension, writing and oral communication skills.
- Proficiency in English writing and verbal communication.
- Willingness to gain proficiency in Industrial Ventilation Design, NFPA, and other standards related to industrial ventilation, dust control and combustible dust hazards.
- HVAC system installation and operations understanding and balancing is advantageous.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Applications: Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
- Willingness to travel overnight within North America, 30ā50% of the time.
- OSHA and lift certification.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Office, warehouse, plant environments and varying outdoor weather conditions. The job requires the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) in certain areas and the ability to access and navigate each department at the organization's facilities.
