We are looking for a proactive and detail-oriented individual to lead and coordinate all metal fabrication and project delivery activities, ensuring that projects—primarily within the nuclear sector—are executed safely, efficiently, and in full compliance with regulatory, quality, and client requirements, while aligning production capabilities with project needs and driving a culture of operational excellence and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide clear direction, guidance, and support to the Fabrication Manager and Project Manager.
  • Oversee planning, scheduling, and coordination of fabrication activities to meet project timelines, budgets, and client requirements.
  • Ensure alignment between production capabilities and project demands.
  • Ensure all fabrication and project activities comply with nuclear codes, industry standards, and client quality plans.
  • Maintain full traceability, documentation, and inspection regimes.
  • Promote a culture of quality excellence, first-time-right delivery, and continuous improvement.
  • Manage departmental budgets, resource allocation, and staffing in line with business objectives.
  • Maintain commercial awareness and optimize operational efficiency to support financial and strategic goals.
  • Engage with suppliers, subcontractors, and clients to ensure delivery expectations are met.
  • Identify opportunities to improve fabrication productivity, reduce non-conformance, and enhance processes.
  • Implement initiatives that enhance documentation, efficiency, and overall operational excellence.

Skills & Qualifications

Essential:

  • Proven leadership of multidisciplinary teams and project management.
  • Experience in documentation control, inspection regimes, and client quality interface.
  • Experience in metal fabrication/manufacturing management, ideally in regulated industries (nuclear, defence, aerospace, oil & gas).
  • Budget and resource management experience.

Desirable:

  • Understanding of nuclear quality assurance frameworks (RCC-M, ASME, EN 1090, ISO 9001, or equivalent).
  • Familiarity with D365, ERP/MRP systems, fabrication planning software, or document control platforms.
  • Knowledge of nuclear site license conditions and working practices.
  • Experience with Quality Grading or Safety Class systems.
