Role Overview
To manage the planning, execution, and delivery of projects. Working alongside an existing Project Team, the role is responsible for coordinating cross‑functional teams, maintaining client relationships, managing risk and change control, and ensuring full traceability and documentation in line with nuclear industry standards.
Responsibilities
- Manage multiple projects from award through to completion and handover.
- Develop and maintain detailed project plans, schedules, and resource forecasts.
- Ensure compliance with quality standards, specifications, and client requirements.
- Coordinate fabrication schedules with the Fabrication Manager to ensure timely production.
- Monitor project budgets, control costs, and provide regular financial forecasts.
- Manage project risks, issues and change control processes.
- Ensure full documentation, traceability, and reporting compliance in line with quality management systems.
- Act as the primary point of contact for clients on allocated projects.
- Lead project review meetings and provide performance updates to the Head of Projects.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance project delivery efficiency and quality performance.
- Promote a strong safety‑first culture across all project activities.
Qualifications
- Significant experience in project management, ideally in regulated industries (nuclear, defence, aerospace, oil & gas).
- Proven leadership of multidisciplinary teams and project management.
- Experience in documentation control, inspection regimes, and client quality interface.
- Strong understanding of nuclear quality assurance frameworks (RCC-M, ASME, EN 1090, ISO 9001, or equivalent) and knowledge of nuclear site licence conditions and working practices would be an advantage.
- Ability to use own initiative to make decisions which may impact the business but can be clearly justified.
- Strong commercial awareness and client‑focused mindset.
