Principle Accountability
This role provides financial and analytical support to the UK finance team during a fixed-term maternity cover period. The Management Accountant will review accounting transactions for the UK office, prepare weekly cashflow forecasts to aid treasury management, and contribute to financial reporting to support the organisation.
Specific Accountabilities
- Review of transactions in the UK finance function, including review of reconciliations, posting accounting entries and review of payment files
- Review of month end deliverables for UK and Switzerland
- Preparation of weekly cashflow forecasts to aid treasury management
- Support cash management processes, including preparation of payment request forms, cash transfers and foreign exchange transactions
- Preparation of expenditure authorisation forms for staff travel, including calculation of appropriate meal rates and analysis of advances to be made to employees
- Accruals and Prepayments
- Oversight of consolidated balance sheet reconciliations for CAMFED’s group accounts
- Preparation of investment revaluation journals
- Preparation of UK consolidated annual budget, co-ordinating with departmental budget holders and monitoring budget performance during the year
- Assist in the preparation of quarterly financial reporting packs
- Provide support during the annual external audit
- Provide technical support, guidance and expertise to colleagues overseas
- Any other duties as required
Person Specification
- Financial related degree or similar
- Part-qualified in a professional accountancy qualification (e.g. ACCA/CIMA/ACA)
- Previous experience in managing or mentoring colleagues
- Interest in international development

- Comprehensive understanding of Microsoft Office, with excellent excel skills
- Good organisational skills, creative thinking and excellent written and oral communication skills
