A bit about us: Camfaud Concrete Pumps Ltd is the largest concrete pump hire company in the UK. Camfaud employs over 300 staff across various depots across the UK and due to our continued expansion, we are actively seeking a plant HGV Fitter to join the team in Fareham.
The role involves maintaining and repairing a large fleet of Mobile Concrete Pumps, Static Plant, HGVs and Motor Vehicles across the UK. We are looking for experienced Plant Fitters to predominantly service, maintain and fix our mobile concrete pumps in our Fareham depot. Reporting to Operations Manager and Workshop Foreman, the main purpose of the role is to service and repair a wide range of plant equipment and vehicles in accordance with Company and Manufacturers Service Schedules.
Job Responsibilities:
- Maintaining and servicing Mobile Concrete Pumps, Static Plant, HGVs and Motor Vehicles.
- Carrying out scheduled service inspections and servicing and repairs in compliance with manufacturers specifications.
- Responsible for attending client sites to fix any malfunctioning plant and equipment including mechanical, electrical and hydraulic faults.
- Performing spot-checks on Mobile Plant to ensure that all operators do the basic daily maintenance and report issues on their daily checks.
- Following safety and housekeeping standards in your area of work both in our workshop and at customer sites.
- Maintaining knowledge of relevant health and safety requirements in relation to your role.
- Undertaking regular relevant maintenance procedures to ensure the plant is serviced in line with protocols.
- Following up site-based remedial work in the workshop to ensure the longevity of solutions.
- Ensuring issues that are solved remain operational with minimum interruption of service.
- Building relationships and working effectively with contractors and clients under time-critical conditions.
- Representing Camfaud Group in a professional and knowledgeable way.
- Any other tasks as required by the Operations Manager/Workshop Foreman.
- Attending breakdown cover.
What we're looking for from the successful candidate:

- NVQ L2/L3 Plant Maintenance or relevant experience.
- HGV Fitter not essential.
- CSCS card.
- HGV Licence class 2 not essential.
- Welding experience.
- Hydraulics.
- Electrical.
- Travel will be required as part of the role.
Hours: 7.30am to 5.30pm, Monday to Friday inclusive with a lunch break of 30 minutes, and two tea breaks of 15 minutes. Overtime & Saturdays may be available. Overtime is paid at 1.5 times the hourly rate.
