The British Heart Foundation (BHF) is seeking a volunteer who is passionate about how technology can support our shops and stores to generate lifesaving income. With a keen eye on problem solving, you will work with the Technology product team to help ensure we deliver easy to use systems that simplify life for stores and central teams helping them focus on delivering great customer service.

The role will support the great work of the Retail and Commercial directorate by supporting the product owner develop, analyse and deliver the retail applications roadmap. This is a great opportunity to gain experience working in tech developing new technology solutions to meet the ever-changing retail demand, working cross functionally on a series of apps and business processes, to enhance the BHF offer to create a world where everyone has a healthier heart for longer.

The difference you will make: As a volunteer, you will play a key role in improving existing systems and delivering new ones that make a tangible difference in stores and align with colleague expectations. This will help make life simpler and easier for colleagues and help drive profits, efficiency and operational effectiveness for the retail and commercial directorate.

Time Commitment: We are looking for someone who can volunteer for 7 to 14 hours a week, flexible hours and days.

Location: This role is a hybrid role which would involve volunteering from home and travel to your choice of our London or Northampton office.

What is involved:

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to collect, document, and establish requirements.
  • Assist in developing the Retail Applications Roadmap and advance items.
  • Monitor and report on progress.
  • Create diagrams and documents illustrating practical improvements.
  • Coordinate with suppliers to discuss, estimate, and price solutions.
  • Implement, test, and provide feedback on new features.
  • Collaborate with wider technology to ensure product delivery aligns with the framework and compliance standards.
