We rely on volunteers to fund lifesaving science to improve the lives of families and loved ones living with heart and circulatory disease. Volunteering with us is easy, flexible and inclusive. If you can spare a few hours a week, or a couple of hours occasionally, we’d love you to join our volunteer team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collect donated items from supporters when they are unable to bring them to our shop.
  • Transport donated items in your own vehicle – you will be reimbursed for mileage at the HMRC rate.
  • Ensure you hold a full, valid driving licence and that your vehicle is appropriately insured for the collection of BHF donations.
  • Deliver donations to your local shop.
  • Transfer stock between shops on a local level as required.
  • Follow BHF guidelines on collections and personal safety.

Eligibility

  • You must be physically fit and active for the driver role due to the lifting and carrying of donation bags in and out of the vehicle.
  • You must also be aged 16 or older and have no unspent criminal convictions.
  • Please note this is an unpaid voluntary position in a friendly charity shop.

Benefits

  • A 25% discount on donated goods and 10% discount on new goods in our shops.
  • Unlimited, free and confidential support by Retail Trust.
