Our charity funds around £100 million of research each year into all heart and circulatory diseases and the things that cause them. Heart diseases, stroke, vascular dementia, and diabetes are all connected, and they're all under our microscope. Our volunteers help us fund lifesaving science to improve the lives of families and loved ones living with heart and circulatory disease. Volunteering with us is easy, flexible, and inclusive. If you can spare a few hours a week, or a couple of hours occasionally, we’d love you to join our volunteer team.

Interested in collectibles, homewares, and bric-a-brac? If this sounds like you, then this could be your perfect volunteering role. Get involved in creating exciting and eye-catching displays of collectibles and homewares in our store. You’ll also be involved in selecting and preparing donated homewares to get them ready for sale. This is an opportunity to share your skills or to get a taster of a career in retail while helping us create a world free from the fear of heart disease.

Just so you know, we are unable to accept volunteers aged under 17 or with unspent criminal convictions. Please note this is an unpaid voluntary position in a friendly charity shop.

Typical tasks include:

  • Following our display guidelines and using your creative skills to maintain attractive displays of homewares in our charity store
  • Keeping our homewares department fully stocked with fresh items
  • Sorting out and cleaning donated ornaments, collectibles, and pictures
  • Following our guidelines to value and price donated ornaments, collectibles, and pictures
