Our charity funds around £100 million of research each year into all heart and circulatory diseases and the things that cause them. Heart diseases, stroke, vascular dementia, and diabetes are all connected, and they're all under our microscope. Our volunteers help us fund lifesaving science to improve the lives of families and loved ones living with heart and circulatory disease. Volunteering with us is easy, flexible, and inclusive. If you can spare a few hours a week, or a couple of hours occasionally, we’d love you to join our volunteer team.
Could you help us raise life-saving funds through the Gift Aid scheme? We’re looking for someone to volunteer within our shop to help improve Gift Aid sign ups, inform customers about Gift Aid, and help other retail volunteers follow the correct processes set out by the HMRC. This is essentially a volunteer fundraising and administration role within our shop, so you will have the support of the shop team to help you.
Gift Aid is very important to all charities, as it allows them to reclaim the tax on donations from UK taxpayers. Every time we sell a gift-aided item, we can claim 25% more from the government - at no extra cost to the donor or customer. We want to improve Gift Aid sign ups and sales, as they are a great way to raise more money to fund life-saving research.
Just so you know, we are unable to accept volunteers aged under 17 or with unspent criminal convictions. Please note this is an unpaid voluntary position in a friendly charity shop.
