Job Overview

An exciting position has become available for a full-time Store Person based at a growing engineering firm in Rochdale.

Key Responsibilities

  • Receiving deliveries – ensuring correct paperwork submitted, goods of good quality, and the system updated to acknowledge receipt.
  • Picking and packing customer goods for dispatch, ensuring shipments ready on time with correct paperwork.
  • Organising stock within the facility, including stock control.
  • Ensuring stock is stored in a manner that allows quick access to frequently used items.
  • Using a forklift (appropriate training provided).
  • Maintaining good housekeeping standards in the stores, ensuring the environment remains clear of waste and reporting any issues that prevent waste removal.
  • Reporting and immediately dealing with any spillages, hazardous or dangerous practices.
  • Working with the store team to identify and resolve issues related to deliveries or shipments.
  • Ensuring all duties are undertaken safely and in a controlled manner.

Qualifications & Skills

  • PC literate.
  • Proactive, collaborative, and meticulous approach to work.
  • Team player with a flexible and dynamic approach to tasks.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Engineering stores background (preferred; training for forklift provided).

Benefits

22 days of annual leave, increasing with length of service (1 day per year after 2 years up to a maximum of 25 days), plus bank holidays.
