Cameron Mackintosh Ltd are looking for a talented Deputy Stage Manager for the London Production of Oliver! at the Gielgud Theatre. We are recruiting candidates with proven knowledge and experience of calling large scale musicals. Applications will be reviewed as we receive them, and the final deadline for new applications is Sunday 26th April 2026. Key Responsibilities

  • Assist the Stage Manager with the efficient management of the department.
  • Encourage and nurture the working practice and development of all junior members of the department and maintain the department's integrity at all times.
  • Assist in any preparation for the Production.
  • Assist with the creation and maintenance of paperwork necessary for the smooth running of the production.
  • Be responsible for the preparation and upkeep of the Production's prompt copy.
  • Cue the Production in a consistent and accurate manner, upholding the creative intent.
  • Train the Assistant Stage Managers to cue the Production in a similar manner.
  • Ensure, alongside the Stage Manager, that relevant rehearsal and production notes are actioned.
  • Act on any show report notes and report any issues to the Production Manager.
  • Be prepared to teach or learn any show plots when necessary.
  • Act as cover for the Stage Manager during holidays and unforeseen absences.
  • Assist with cast changes as required in conjunction with the Technical Production department.
  • Assist with ensuring the company's welfare and checking that Health and Safety regulations are met in both rehearsal studios and the theatre.
  • Be responsible for the maintenance and upkeep of all set elements and props.
  • Provide accurate time sheets on a weekly basis.
  • Attend meetings or training courses as required.
  • Ensure that, with the Production Manager, the Company Manager and Stage Manager, the continuing integrity of the company and smooth running of performances throughout the Production's life.
  • Attend promotional events such as publicity and photographic calls, press and media interviews and press junkets.
  • Uphold and promote at all times the Manager's Child Protection Policy and related procedures and guidelines.
  • Comply with the Producer's policies and procedures in force from time to time, including but not limited to the Producer's policies on Equal Opportunities, Bullying and Harassment, Safeguarding, Social Media, Data Protection.
  • Undertake any other reasonable duties asked for by the Producer.
