- Senior Data Protection Officer
- Investment Management | London | Hybrid
An established investment management firm is hiring a Data Protection Officer to own and drive its data protection agenda.
This is not a maintenance role.
You'll be taking the firm forward — writing and implementing the policies and procedures, being the point of contact with the ICO, and setting the standard for how the business handles personal data.
You'll have the ear of directors and senior management, and the mandate to challenge them when it matters.
What you'll be doing
Owning the DSAR process end to end — completing them on time, and having the judgement and confidence to challenge what should and shouldn't be disclosed.
Building out policies, procedures and training that people actually use.
Acting as the firm's voice with the ICO.
And staying ahead of what's coming, particularly around AI: where it creates exposure, what it means for personal data and systems, and how the firm should be governing it.
What we're looking for
Someone already doing this job somewhere else, who wants a bigger canvas.
You'll know UK GDPR and the DPA 2018 properly rather than theoretically, be comfortable holding your ground with senior stakeholders, and have a professional network you can draw on to bring genuine best practice back into the business.
CIPP/E, CIPM or the BCS Practitioner Certificate in Data Protection would be welcome.
Financial services or another regulated environment is an advantage, though the right person from an adjacent sector will be considered.
