Central London – hybrid – 4 days in office

A well-capitalised international banking group is seeking an Enterprise Risk Analyst to join its London risk function, paying up to £45,000 (DOE) plus bonus and benefits on a hybrid basis (4 days per week in a central London office). Candidates must have full, unrestricted right to work in the UK now and in the future; sponsorship is not available and our client will not employ anyone on graduate visas for this role.

The opportunity

Support a low-volatility, strongly rated bank in delivering a robust second line of defence across all prudential risk disciplines. Work closely with the Deputy CRO and wider Risk team, gaining broad exposure to financial risk, treasury, finance, and senior management committees.

What you will do

  • Supporting the Risk team and delivering on the bank's Business Strategy by supporting the provision of a robust second line of defence (oversight, review, and challenge).
  • The position is responsible for building, maintaining and ongoing improvement of the risk practices and reporting of the Bank.
  • The key focus is on financial risk, as well as using skills and expertise to support the development of risk analysis and models.
  • You will assist in the below activities:
  • Supporting the embedding of the bank's risk management framework into its business operations and processes.
  • Design and or improve analytics and modelling solutions to meet the bank's prudential requirements (e.g., deposit behaviour, stress testing, cash flows).
  • Provide modelling solutions and insights to support business and risk decision making.
  • To raise concerns about controls, practices, behaviours, and possible breaches of credit risk and market risk limits, policies, and guidelines to the Enterprise Risk Lead and to CRO.
  • Assist on producing key regulatory documents, including the ILAAP, ICAAP, Recovery Plan and RAS.
  • Providing oversight on the treasury collateral management process.
  • Assist in improving the quality, timeliness, and accuracy of risk-related management information (spreadsheets, VBA macros, PowerBI), which supports strategic decision-making and risk management practices.
  • Supporting with the production and delivery of risk-related reports for internal and external stakeholders (including the Board, Credit Risk Committee, Credit Approval Committee, ALCO, regulators, credit rating agencies).
  • Drive process improvement opportunities that enhance the efficiency of the report production process.

What we are looking for

All the below are essential requirements:

  • Masters-level (or strong bachelors with high grade) graduate in a quantitative discipline (e.g. mathematics, economics, engineering, computer science, accounting or similar).
  • Strong Python skills; experience with R or VBA is essential, alongside advanced Excel and core MS Office.
  • Knowledge and experience of universal banking products and a strong interest in financial risk, analytics and modelling.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving ability, high attention to detail, and confident communication skills with stakeholders across the bank.
  • Proactive, inquisitive mind-set with the ability to work both independently and as part of a small, high-performing team.

Location, salary and eligibility

Central London, hybrid working (4 days per week in the office, 1 day from home). Salary up to £45,000 (depending on experience) plus discretionary bonus and a competitive benefits package.
