Responsibilities
- Prepare and produce group consolidation schedules and related disclosure notes for inclusion in annual financial statements in accordance with UK GAAP requirements.
- Prepare and post all consolidation entries.
- Assist in the preparation of group individual entity financial statements.
- Liaise with and coordinate external auditors, providing requested information and resolving queries promptly.
- Prepare technical accounting papers, including impairment reviews, going concern assessments, and other technical documentation as required.
- Develop and maintain detailed balance sheet schedules, including consolidation schedules for business combinations, goodwill, retained earnings, and P13 adjustments.
- Proactively follow up on outstanding queries and work with stakeholders to ensure timely delivery of required information.
- Ensure the accuracy and completeness of financial data through robust review and reconciliation processes.
- Perform monthly balance sheet movement reviews.
- Ensure financial statements are fully compliant with FRS 102.
- Support year-end planning, preparation of audit requests, and balance sheet reviews.
- Assist with financial accounting and reporting for acquisition integrations, including fair value adjustments, goodwill calculations, and consolidation of acquired balances.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives and work with stakeholders to streamline and enhance financial reporting processes.
Requirements
- Proven experience in financial reporting within the Financial Services sector.
- Strong technical knowledge of UK GAAP and IFRS reporting requirements.
- Excellent communication and influencing skills, with the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Strong problem-solving capability and ability to manage tight deadlines.
- Experience working with multiple entities and multi-currency consolidations.
- Experience with mergers and acquisitions accounting and integration is advantageous.
Qualifications
- Professional accounting qualification required (ACA, ACCA, or CIMA).
