North Northamptonshire Council is seeking an experienced Employment Lawyer to join their Legal Services team on a full-time, fully remote basis. This is an excellent opportunity to support a busy local authority with a varied caseload of employment law matters.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality legal advice on a wide range of employment law issues including disciplinary, grievance, redundancy, TUPE, and tribunal matters.
- Manage and conduct employment tribunal cases, including preparation of documentation and representation where required.
- Advise HR and senior management on complex employment matters and risk mitigation.
- Draft and review policies, procedures, and legal documents in line with current legislation.
- Support organisational change projects and restructuring initiatives.
Requirements
- Qualified Solicitor, Barrister, or CILEX with significant post-qualification experience in employment law.
- Proven experience working within local government or the public sector is highly desirable.
- Strong knowledge of UK employment legislation and tribunal processes.
- Ability to manage a varied caseload independently and meet deadlines.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
