North Northamptonshire Council is seeking an experienced Employment Lawyer to join their Legal Services team on a full-time, fully remote basis. This is an excellent opportunity to support a busy local authority with a varied caseload of employment law matters.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide high-quality legal advice on a wide range of employment law issues including disciplinary, grievance, redundancy, TUPE, and tribunal matters.
  • Manage and conduct employment tribunal cases, including preparation of documentation and representation where required.
  • Advise HR and senior management on complex employment matters and risk mitigation.
  • Draft and review policies, procedures, and legal documents in line with current legislation.
  • Support organisational change projects and restructuring initiatives.

Requirements

  • Qualified Solicitor, Barrister, or CILEX with significant post-qualification experience in employment law.
  • Proven experience working within local government or the public sector is highly desirable.
  • Strong knowledge of UK employment legislation and tribunal processes.
  • Ability to manage a varied caseload independently and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

Role Details

  • Contract Length: 3 months initially.
  • Working Pattern: Full-time (37 hours per week).
  • Location: Fully remote.
