We are seeking an experienced HRBP / Senior HRBP to partner with senior leaders in a regulated financial services environment. This role will support the delivery of the People Strategy while also helping to strengthen organisational capability, people-risk management, and governance across a complex, FCA-regulated business.
The successful candidate will bring strong HR business partnering experience, deep knowledge of regulatory frameworks, and the confidence to influence at senior level. This is a broad and high-impact role covering employee relations, organisational design, remuneration governance, workforce planning, and regulatory MI.
Key Responsibilities- Act as a trusted advisor to senior leaders on organisational design, workforce planning, succession, and capability.
- Lead HR support across assigned business areas, ensuring alignment with business and people strategy.
- Provide strategic employee relations guidance and manage complex cases with a risk-aware approach.
- Support retail and front-office teams on competence, conduct, and people-risk matters.
- Partner with Compliance on SMCR ownership, certification, fit and proper assessments, conduct rules training, and documentation.
- Produce SMCR MI and support governance reporting for ExCo, Risk Committee, and Board.
- Support MiFIDPRU-related people governance, including competence, capability, remuneration, and reward risk.
- Work closely with T&C teams to align competence frameworks, CPD, supervision MI, and regulatory training.
- Lead the review and maintenance of HR policies and procedures from a legal and regulatory perspective.
- Support compensation processes including salary review, benchmarking, job evaluation, and variable pay governance.
- Produce high-quality MI and workforce analytics to support decision-making and identify emerging risks.
- Lead or support HR workstreams within transformation, restructuring, and regulatory change programmes.
- Strong HR Business Partnering experience in a regulated financial services environment.
- Good understanding of SMCR, MiFIDPRU, T&C, and FCA expectations.
- Working knowledge of FCA-related rules and frameworks such as SYSC, COBS, APER, FIT, and employment law.
- Strong employee relations experience, including senior-level and complex cases.
- Experience supporting compensation, reward, or variable pay processes.
- Confidence producing MI and using data to inform decisions.
- Strong stakeholder management, influencing, and business judgement.
- Ability to work autonomously and deliver at pace.
- CIPD Level 7 desirable.
