We’re partnering with a growing and well-regarded wealth management firm in Cambridge to hire an Associate Wealth Planner. This is an excellent opportunity for a graduate or early-career professional looking to build a long-term career in financial planning, with a clear pathway to becoming a qualified Financial Planner.
You’ll work closely with experienced advisors, gaining hands-on exposure to client relationships, paraplanning, and the full advice process.
The Role
This is a development-focused position combining client support and paraplanning responsibilities. You’ll play a key role in delivering strong client outcomes while building the technical knowledge and commercial awareness required to progress into an advisory role.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as a first point of contact for clients, handling queries and supporting ongoing relationships
- Coordinate client meetings, prepare valuation packs, and manage diaries
- Process new business including onboarding, AML/CDD checks, and documentation
- Maintain accurate client records using back-office systems (e.g. XPlan)
- Support post-meeting follow-ups and client communications
- Assist with billing, invoicing, and general administrative tasks
- Paraplanning duties will include:
- Conducting research to support financial planning recommendations
- Preparing suitability reports aligned to client needs and regulatory requirements
- Supporting cashflow modelling and financial calculations
- Drafting technical and client-facing documentation
- Identifying opportunities for future advice
About You
- Degree educated (minimum 2:1 preferred)
- Strong interest in financial planning and wealth management
- Working towards or committed to completing the Level 4 Diploma (CII)
- Strong numerical skills and high attention to detail
- Excellent communication and organisational abilities
- Motivated, proactive, and keen to develop into an advisory role
