About the Role
An established and growing insurance brokerage based in Middlesex is seeking a skilled professional to manage their client and insurer accounting functions. This role offers great autonomy, allowing you to work in the office, hybrid, or largely remote (following an initial onboarding period) with occasional visits to the Middlesex office.
Key Responsibilities
- IBA Accounting: Managing the Insurer and Client Ledger processes accurately and efficiently.
- Reconciliations: Performing daily bank reconciliations, insurer statement reconciliations, and resolving unallocated cash or discrepancies.
- System Management: Utilising Acturis daily to process payments, credit control, bordereaux, and premium calculations.
- Credit Control: Monitoring outstanding balances, chasing client debt, and maintaining low bad-debt levels.
- Insurer Relations: Processing insurer settlements and maintaining strong working relationships with insurer accounts teams.
- Reporting: Assisting the Finance Manager with month-end reports, IBA audit preparation, and compliance checks.
Requirements Skills Requirement Details
- Brokerage Experience: 5+ years in a similar Insurance Broker Accounts (IBA) role (Essential).
- Software Skills: Deep operational knowledge of Acturis software (Essential).
- Technical Knowledge: Comprehensive understanding of FCA regulations regarding client money (CASS 5).
- Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills to liaise with underwriters, clients, and internal teams.
- Location / Travel: Able to commute to the Middlesex office for initial training and ongoing occasional team meetings.
