Prepare for Technical Questions

Expect questions about accruals, pre-payments, and VAT returns. We recommend reviewing the relevant accounting principles and being prepared to explain your thought process when preparing these documents. This will demonstrate your expertise and confidence in the role.

Show Your Organisational Skills

Since organisation is key in bookkeeping, think of examples where you’ve successfully managed multiple tasks or projects. We suggest preparing a brief story that highlights your ability to stay organised under pressure, as this will resonate well with the interviewers.

Ask Insightful Questions

At the end of the interview, don’t forget to ask questions! Inquire about the team dynamics, the types of clients they work with, or how they measure success in the bookkeeping role. This shows your genuine interest in the position and helps you assess if it’s the right fit for you.
