THE ROLE

As Financial Controller, you will oversee the day-to-day financial operations of the resort while supporting the Finance Director in delivering broader group financial objectives. Partnering closely with the Senior Leadership Team to drive performance and uphold the highest standards of governance.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Financial Control & Governance
    • Ensure accurate and timely preparation of monthly management accounts.
    • Maintain robust internal controls and safeguard resort assets.
    • Oversee compliance with statutory, tax and regulatory requirements.
    • Support year-end processes and coordinate external audits.
    • Ensure adherence to group financial policies and brand standards.
  • Performance Reporting & Analysis
    • Deliver detailed financial analysis across all revenue streams.
    • Monitor key hospitality KPIs including ADR, RevPAR, GOP, payroll ratios and cost of sales.
    • Provide clear variance analysis and performance insight to the Resort Director and Finance Director.
    • Support data-driven decision-making across departments.
  • Budgeting & Forecasting
    • Support the annual budgeting process on property.
    • Prepare rolling forecasts and variance analysis.
    • Work collaboratively with departmental leaders to ensure financial accountability.
    • Identify risks and opportunities to protect margin and profitability.
  • Operational Finance Leadership
    • Oversee accounts payable, receivable, payroll, income audit and purchasing controls.
    • Ensure effective stock control and cost management procedures.
    • Drive continuous improvement in systems and reporting processes.
  • Leadership & Collaboration
    • Lead, develop and mentor the on-site finance team.
    • Act as a trusted business partner to operational leaders.
    • Support the Finance Director with strategic initiatives and group reporting.
    • Foster a culture of accountability, precision and professionalism.

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR

Essential

  • Significant finance experience within a hotel or resort environment.
  • In-depth understanding of multi-outlet hospitality operations.
  • Highly analytical with significant commercial acumen.
  • Confident communicator capable of influencing senior stakeholders.
  • Detail-oriented, organised and solutions-driven.
  • Previous supervision / management of a finance team.
  • Experience with hotel finance systems.

Preferred

  • Fully qualified accountant (ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).
  • Highly analytical with strong commercial acumen.
