THE ROLE: The scope of the role of Linen Assistant is to support the Linen Manager in handling towels, bedding, table coverings, guest laundry and uniforms ensuring the highest standards of cleanliness and quality as items are redistributed. Key things you will be responsible for:

  • Linen orders
  • Sorting, counting and recording soiled linen for transportation
  • Receipt of, counting and storage of clean linen
  • Processing of reject linen
  • Linen and uniform issue
  • Stocktakes of linen and uniform
  • Laundering of towels and small items
  • Handling and delivery of dry cleaning orders
  • Attend to any guests’ special requests
  • Cleanliness and presentation of linen room
  • General assistance to Housekeeping and Public Area teams

TO BE ELIGIBLE TO APPLY YOU WILL ALSO NEED:

  • Hotel or Customer service experience, with specific housekeeping experience an advantage
  • Great interpersonal skills, with an ability to build excellent working relationships
  • Thoroughness, with keen attention to detail
  • A flexible approach to work to meet operational demand
  • Good numerical skills
  • Basic IT skills and ability to use mobile phones and hand held technology
  • Ability to carry out basic sewing tasks such as buttons, seams etc would be an advantage
