The Role

The Revenue Manager is a key strategic and operational leader responsible for maximizing total revenue and market share across all resort streams, with a primary focus on accommodation, dining, spa, golf, and activity bookings. The Revenue Manager will drive group-wide revenue strategy, optimize distribution channels, and provide in-depth analytical insights to inform business decisions and contribute significantly to the overall commercial success of the business.

Key things you will be doing Revenue Strategy & Optimization

  • Lead the development and implementation of the Hotels (and potentially resort) overall revenue management and distribution strategy to maximize profitability and market share across all market segments and distribution channels.
  • Analyze comprehensive business and market intelligence data, including daily pick-up, demand patterns, market trends, and competitive benchmarking, to inform tactical and strategic pricing adjustments.
  • Develop and refine robust measurement tools and mechanisms for clear performance benchmarking across all revenue streams.
  • Drive the development and implementation of dynamic pricing strategies based on demand forecasts, business goals, and competitive landscape.
  • Ensure all revenue-related systems (e.g., Central Reservation System (CRS), Property Management System (PMS – Opera preferred), Revenue Management Systems (RMS – Duetto preferred), Channel Managers (SynXis or similar)) are correctly configured, validated, and operting at full capcity, with accurate rate loading and data integrity.
  • Maintain and enhance the functionality of the resort’s website booking process, focusing on driving direct bookings.
  • Identify and implement cost-effective distribution methods to optimize acquisition costs and focus on lowering distribution costs.
  • Produce accurate and regular performance reports, variance analysis, and budget comparisons to support financial planning and present to senior stakeholders (e.g. Managing Director, wider Commercial Team and owners).
  • Conduct displacement analysis of group business and sales negotiations to ascertain potential impact on RevPAR and TRevPAR

Operational Management & Quality

  • Daily review and implementation of room accommodation and rate inventory controls
  • Attend weekly commercial/business meetings, contributing relevant insights and group strategies according to seasons, events etc
  • Manage Group and Transient inventory, including quoting for groups via Duetto Blockbuster Strategy, supporting hotel in managing groups in line with contracts and demand
  • Ensure pricing consistency across all distribution channels (Rate Parity) and that branded lowest rate promise is kept.
  • Implement all blackout dates and review frequently for adjustments

Financial Contribution

  • Take ownership and accountability for Total Revenue forecasting, budgeting, and reporting performance to the wider business, General Managers, and Sales Managers
  • Work with the commercial team to develop annual Sales & Marketing plans and drive key activities to deliver them
  • Proactively achieve Total Revenue e.g. Rooms Revenue and MICE Revenue goals

Reporting and Analysis

  • Provide comprehensive analysis of yield strategies, room statistics, and performance trends
  • Write and review end-of-month revenue reports such as booking pace, competitive share analysis, and segmentation reports.
  • Complete daily booking pick-up reports and implement strategy changes based on findings
  • Provide room type sold monthly reports to analyze past and present trends and make recommendations for future strategies.
  • Strive to grow forecasting ability within the industry standard of +/- 5%.
  • Prepare reports and other materials for regular meetings and business processes

TO BE ELIGIBLE TO APPLY YOU WILL ALSO NEED:

  • Minimum 3-5 years of progressive experience in a Revenue Management role
  • Strong working knowledge of Excel and PowerPoint; ability to develop and deliver effective presentations
  • Varied knowledge of Property Management Systems (PMS) and enhanced understanding of Revenue Management Systems (RMS), with Duetto preferred
  • Experience with channel managers (e.g., SynXis or similar).
  • In-depth understanding of Dynamic Pricing models and their application
  • Knowledge of distribution in a non-brand environment, including cost of sale (COS) implications and impact on EBITDA.
  • Solid attention to detail and strong time management skills
  • Strong engagement, analytical, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think outside the box.
  • Proactive in achieving Rooms Revenue and MICE Revenue goals
  • Team player with strong interpersonal, communication, and influencing skills; ability to influence change in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to investigate systems malfunctions or user-input errors
  • Ability to analyse data, make meaningful conclusions, and base sound decisions and strategies on these.
  • Ability to adapt to a frequently changing market environment and work under pressure to meet deadlines
