The Role

As the focal meeting point, and the resort’s biggest bar, Great Scots Bar offers an alluring backdrop of Loch Lomond and the mountains, best experienced from the outside 1st floor terrace.

Our guests can enjoy a seasonal menu, or settle in for a dram at our famous Whisky Bar where there’s over 300 to choose from.

The scope of the role of Food and Beverage Assistant within Great Scots Bar is to create a warm welcome and create special memories through the knowledgeable service of beverage (particularly Whisky) and food.

  • Key Things You Will Be Responsible For
  • Confident menu and service knowledge
  • Preparing for service - Mise en place
  • Cleanliness and presentation of your bar section
  • Setting and presentation of tables
  • Providing recommendations and taking orders
  • Liaison with the kitchen team and clear communication of special dietary requirements
  • Service and replenishment of premium drinks, cocktails, wines, champagnes and teas and coffees
  • Checking satisfaction and handling additional requests and feedback
  • Capturing guest preferences and special requests for future reference
  • Billing, presentation and payments
  • Clearing tables and resetting for next service
  • Requisitions and secure handling of stock

  • To Be Eligible To Apply You Will Also Need
  • National 5 Qualifications in English and Maths or SVQ Level 2 in Hospitality/Food and Drink Service or equivalent qualifications
  • Experience in a quality bar or restaurant environment is preferred
  • Great interpersonal skills with an ability to confidently interact at all levels
  • WSET Level 2 and Food Hygiene Certification an advantage
  • Basic IT skills and ability to use hand held technology
  • To be a minimum age of 18 years (licencing requirement)
