As a Senior Accountant, you will take a hands‑on role, working closely with a diverse client portfolio (approx. 30 clients). Responsibilities include:
- Preparation of statutory year‑end accounts and management accounts
- Personal and corporate tax returns
- Exposure to VAT and CGT (essential)
- Inheritance Tax exposure (advantageous)
- Providing financial reporting and client advisory support
- Managing a full client portfolio (approx. 30 clients)
- Working in a fast‑paced, high‑volume practice environment
- Taking initiative and supporting client‑focused advisory work
Ideal Candidate Profile
- Strong practice background (must have worked in an accountancy firm)
- Minimum 10 years' experience
- Experience within a larger, structured accountancy practice (teams of 8–20 people)
- Preference for stability (at least 4–5 years in one role)
- Commercially aware and able to manage a portfolio independently
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
Qualifications
- ACA / ACCA qualified
- Part‑qualified accountant considered if significant experience is present & exams already partially completed
Type of Experience Required
- Experience in accounts preparation, management accounts, income tax and corporate tax
- Exposure to mid‑to‑large clients preferred (£1m–£10m turnover)
- Not suited to candidates mainly from small sole traders/subcontractors

- Manufacturing / Engineering / Construction (larger firms) / IT / Service companies / Design businesses / Hospitality (higher‑end gastro pubs)
- Understanding of business complexity required:
- Cost structures
- Component costing (manufacturing/engineering exposure beneficial)
