Are you the right person for the job? You’ll be a confident, detail-focused accounts professional who enjoys variety and working closely with colleagues. Prior accounts experience is essential, and legal sector experience is a bonus but if you have strong financial skills and a willingness to learn the Solicitors Accounts Rules, training will be provided. You’ll also need to be:
- Organised, accurate, and adaptable
- A confident communicator with banks, suppliers, and team members
- A strong team player who’s happy to get stuck in
- Proficient with Excel and general accounting software (Access Legal training provided)
What will your role look like? As a Legal Accounts Manager, you’ll ensure the firm’s financial operations run smoothly and compliantly, supporting both accounts and office management duties. Your typical week will include:
- Managing multiple ledgers and accounts (client, conveyancing, office, savings)
- Carrying out daily reconciliations and maintaining accurate records
- Processing client payments, receipts, bills, and supplier invoices
- Entering payroll data into ledgers (no end-to-end payroll management)
- Liaising with fee earners, partners, banks, and external accountants
- Assisting with general office admin and utilities management
- Month-end reconciliation
