The Role
As Warehouse Team Leader, you will play a key role in ensuring the smooth day-to-day running of warehouse operations. Leading a small team, you will oversee goods in, order fulfilment, stock accuracy and operational performance while maintaining high standards of safety and efficiency. This is a hands-on leadership position suited to someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment and takes pride in delivering operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Promote a strong health & safety culture, ensuring all activities are carried out in line with safe systems of work, site procedures and compliance standards.
- Take accountability for coordinating operational activities across your designated area, ensuring productivity, accuracy and service levels are consistently delivered in line with customer expectations.
- Lead, motivate and support warehouse colleagues, proactively managing performance, providing real-time feedback and driving engagement to achieve team and individual targets.
- Prioritise and delegate workload effectively, adapting plans in line with operational demand to ensure deadlines and KPIs are consistently met.
- Oversee Goods In operations, booking in of deliveries and ensuring stock is received accurately.
- Ensure all customer orders are picked, packed and dispatched correctly, on time and in full.
- Team leadership and development, conducting shift briefings, onboarding new hires, training staff, and managing attendance, performance or conduct issues.
- Inventory and system controls, leading stock integrity processes, including cycle counts, audits and handling discrepancy investigations using the warehouse enterprise resource planning (ERP) system.
- Resolve any stock or order discrepancies in collaboration with customer services and supply chain teams in a timely manner.
Requirements
Essential
- Previous experience in a warehouse or logistics Team Leader or supervisory role within a KPI-driven environment.
- Strong understanding of warehouse operations, with the ability to manage workflows and maintain operational standards.
- Proven people management skills, with experience motivating small cross-functional teams, managing performance and supporting development.
- A hands-on leadership style that takes ownership and responsibility for areas of responsibility.
- Confident communication skills, with the ability to influence, challenge and build relationships across all levels.
- Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-moving, time-critical environment.
- Good knowledge and experience working with warehouse ERP systems.
Desirable
- Previous experience using the Orderwise ERP system.
