We're looking for a reliable Stairlift Engineer to join an established and growing mobility equipment business. You'll help customers remain safe and independent by installing, servicing and repairing stairlifts and other mobility products. Whether you already have mobility-equipment experience or bring transferable engineering, lift-industry, maintenance or motor-mechanical skills, you'll receive structured manufacturer training and the support to build a long-term career.

What You'll Receive

  • £26,000 - £30,000 salary, depending on experience
  • Full-time or part-time opportunity
  • Monday to Friday, 9:00am - 5:00pm working hours
  • Company van provided for work use

The Role

Based from the unit in Waterwells, Quedgeley, Gloucester, you'll work across Gloucestershire and Bristol installing, servicing and repairing stairlifts and mobility products. This is a varied, customer-facing role combining practical installation, servicing, repair and fault finding. You'll work independently on site while remaining part of a supportive team and reporting to the directors. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Installing and commissioning stairlifts and mobility equipment
  • Carrying out routine servicing and preventative maintenance
  • Diagnosing and repairing mechanical and electrical faults
  • Servicing and repairing mobility scooters and related products where required
  • Planning your work and travelling to customer locations across the local area
  • Completing service reports and associated paperwork accurately
  • Working to manufacturer guidance and health and safety requirements
  • Delivering friendly, professional customer service in homes and care settings
  • Reporting completed work, issues and customer needs to the directors

What We're Looking For

Essential

  • Some form of hands-on experience gained in a trade, engineering, maintenance or mechanical role
  • Full UK driving licence
  • Fluent spoken English
  • Strong customer service and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently while contributing positively to a team
  • Reliable, organised and practical approach to work
  • A professional manner when representing the business at customer sites

Desirable

  • Experience installing, servicing or repairing stairlifts
  • Experience servicing or repairing mobility scooters or other mobility products
  • LOLER testing experience or knowledge of lifting equipment requirements
  • Care home maintenance experience
  • Transferable experience from the lift industry, motor mechanics or a similar field-service environment
