Our client is located in the charming historic town of Topsham, situated on the River Exe, just four miles from Exeter. Combining traditional pub hospitality and charm with one of the most sought-after dining locations in Devon, they offer a welcoming environment focused on quality food and service.
The Role
You will be responsible for supervising the Front of House operation, ensuring the smooth running of the floor while supporting the management team with day-to-day operational duties.
Key Responsibilities
- Greeting and seating customers and ensuring a welcoming experience
- Delegating responsibilities and running the floor in the Assistant Manager’s absence
- Supporting and supervising the Front of House team to maintain high standards of service
- Cashing up at the end of the day, locking up and placing orders with suppliers
- Supporting management with customer complaints and liaising with the kitchen to resolve any issues
- Ensuring allergen awareness and Health & Safety procedures are followed
- Maintaining a clean, organised and well-presented Front of House area
- Managing your time effectively and remaining calm under pressure
- Working flexibly, including weekends and bank holidays
Requirements
Essential
- Previous experience working in a Front of House or hospitality environment
- Ability to lead a team and work on your own initiative
- Excellent customer service and communication skills
- Strong time management and organisational skills
- Ability to work under pressure in a busy customer-facing environment
- Understanding of Health & Safety and allergen awareness procedures
- Flexibility to work a variety of hours, including weekends and bank holidays
- Live within a commutable distance
Desirable
- Previous experience working in a busy hospitality establishment
- Previous experience managing or supervising a hospitality team
