Development Technician | Burton upon Trent (with some travel to UK sites) | Full Time | Competitive + Benefits
Are you an experienced technician with a flair for design, testing, and hands-on development? Our client is looking for a Development Technician to join their growing team and contribute to the creation, testing, and refinement of industry-leading products.
This is a varied and rewarding role offering the opportunity to work across design, prototyping, and testing processes. You’ll be involved in everything from producing manufacturing drawings and 3D models to inspecting products and running development tests – all vital parts of our innovation process.

Are you the right person for the job?
- 2+ years of relevant technical experience
- Strong understanding of steel fabrication and manufacturing processes
- Ability to work confidently with hand tools and in workshop settings
- Experience in test planning and reporting
- Strong organisational, time management, and communication skills
- HNC/HND in a technical or engineering discipline
- IT proficiency, including Microsoft Office and 3D CAD packages
- A practical problem-solver who enjoys working in a collaborative team
- Has a keen eye for detail and a drive to get things right
- You take pride in your work, follow procedures, meet deadlines, and actively contribute to continuous improvement.
What will your role look like?
- Producing accurate fabrication and manufacturing drawings
- Creating 3D models using Autodesk Inventor and AutoCAD
- Developing and supporting product test schemes
- Conducting hands-on testing of prototypes and documenting results
- Inspecting new product designs and contributing to quality assurance
- Supporting multi-disciplinary teams and travelling to UK offices as required
