Our client, a small family-run business with retail shops in Ashtead, Fetcham, Hartley Witney, with a production kitchen near Farnham, is seeking an experienced Manager with a catering background to join the team in their Fetcham branch

The Manager will oversees the daily operations of this unique deli, ensuring excellent customer service, product quality, and efficient inventory and staff management. This is a hands-on role requiring a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and a friendly, community-minded approach.

  • Previous experience in food service and retail management.
  • proven track record in a similar environment preferred.
  • The ability to strengthen and boost trade.
  • Strong leadership and organisational skills.
  • Knowledge of food hygiene regulations.

  • Ability to multitask and work well under pressure.
  • Flexibility to work early mornings, weekends, and seasonal holidays.

What will your role look like?

  • Open and close the shop as required
  • Supervise daily operations, including food preparation, service, and cleanliness
  • Manage and train a small team of staff
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety standards and food hygiene standards.
  • Maintain inventory, place orders, and manage vendor relationships
  • Assist in marketing and community engagement efforts
  • Handle cash and till operations and end-of-day financials
  • Develop and maintain strong customer relationships
  • Contribute to menu planning and seasonal offerings, as well as advising customers with large orders for office lunches, parties and events
  • Maintain a safe working environment for self and others
  • Maintain the high cleanliness standards set out by the management team
  • Accommodate customer needs and dietary requirements
  • Adhere to all company and statutory health & safety requirements
