Overview
Our client has permanent vacancies for two roles within their finance team, an Accounts Clerk and a Billing Clerk, both based at their Feltham facility, conveniently located adjacent to London Heathrow Airport. They are a privately owned company specialising in freight forwarding, logistics management and international shipping. Operating independently, they provide high-quality services to commercial clients, private individuals and agents worldwide and are now looking to strengthen their finance function with two experienced professionals.
Accounts Clerk – Role Overview
The Accounts Clerk will be responsible for day-to-day accounting activities, including:
- Using Sage 50 and Boxtop
- Posting and allocating customer and supplier payments
- Credit control, including SOA, reminders and chasing queries and payments
- Aged debtor monitoring and analysis
- New customer credit checks and maintenance of existing credit limits
- Posting overhead supplier invoices and reconciling accounts
- Monthly bank reconciliations
- Monthly CDS account reconciliation
- Sales commission and ad hoc reporting
- Posting payroll journals
- Petty cash reconciliation
Accounts Clerk Requirements
- Previous experience in an account’s role
- Working knowledge of Sage 50
- Strong attention to detail and reconciliation skills
- Experience within freight forwarding or logistics (advantageous)
Billing Clerk – Role Overview
The Billing Clerk will be responsible for daily billing and financial reporting, including:
- Daily billing for both sea and air freight
- Managing accruals
- Dealing with customer billing queries
- Updating customer and airline rates
- Completing P&L reports
Billing Clerk Requirements
- Previous experience in a billing role
- Experience with Sage 50, ASM and / or Boxtop
- Strong numerical and organisational skills
- Experience within freight forwarding or logistics (advantageous)
