Our client is an independent manufacturer and global supplier of high-quality liquid printing inks for the packaging market. With a strong reputation for technical expertise, responsive service and long-standing customer relationships, they work closely with printers and packaging manufacturers to provide effective, commercially focused ink solutions.

The Technical Sales Executive will be responsible for developing new business, managing and growing existing customer accounts, and providing technical support across Mirage Inks' range of liquid ink systems. The role combines technical knowledge, commercial awareness and relationship management, with responsibility for developing customer relationships and identifying new commercial opportunities across the Southeast UK. This is a combination of field-based and home-based working, with the successful candidate trusted to manage their own time and territory effectively.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement a structured sales approach across the allocated Southeast territory
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities within the flexographic printing and packaging markets
  • Develop new customer relationships from initial contact through to commercial agreement
  • Grow sales and profitability across an established customer base
  • Identify opportunities to introduce additional products, technologies and solutions to existing customers
  • Prepare and deliver customer presentations, quotations and commercial proposals where required
  • Develop strong, professional and long-term relationships with existing customers
  • Act as the primary commercial and technical contact for allocated accounts
  • Visit customers as required to understand their requirements, challenges and future plans
  • Carry out monthly or bi-monthly stock counts at consignment customers
  • Proactively identify opportunities to improve customer satisfaction and increase business
  • Respond promptly and professionally to customer enquiries and issues
  • Provide customers with technical advice relating to liquid printing ink systems
  • Demonstrate a strong working knowledge of solvent-based, water-based and UV ink technologies
  • Understand the interaction between inks, substrates, printing processes, press conditions and finishing requirements
  • Assist customers in identifying appropriate ink solutions for specific applications
  • Work with the technical and laboratory teams to investigate and resolve customer issues
  • Support technical trials and product evaluations at customer sites where appropriate
  • Communicate technical information clearly to both technical and non-technical customers
  • Monitor market activity, competitor developments and customer requirements
  • Maintain accurate customer records, sales opportunities and activity within the company's CRM or reporting systems
  • Work closely with Technical, Production, Customer Service and Management teams
  • Communicate customer requirements and market feedback effectively within the business
  • Support the development of new products and solutions based on customer and market needs
  • Ensure customer commitments are realistic, communicated and followed through
  • Contribute to sales meetings, forecasting and business planning
  • Achieve agreed sales, revenue and margin targets
