The Old Black Lion is an award-winning restaurant and B&B, situated in the book town of Hay-On-Wye. We are a family-run business that takes pride in using local produce and suppliers wherever possible, supporting our community and delivering fresh, high-quality food.
We have an exciting opportunity to join our kitchen team at The Old Black Lion, working closely with our Head Chef and wider team in a supportive and professional environment.
The Role
We are looking to build on our current team and support our Head Chef in continuing to develop our excellent reputation for food and service. This is a great opportunity to develop and learn new skills, working alongside a Head Chef who specialises in training and managing teams effectively. You will work closely with the Head Chef and kitchen team in a supportive and busy kitchen environment.
Key responsibilities:
- Supporting the Head Chef and wider kitchen team during daily service
- Preparing and cooking dishes to a high standard
- Assisting with maintaining kitchen cleanliness and hygiene standards
- Working with local produce and suppliers where possible
- Supporting smooth kitchen operations during service
