A landmark hotel with a rich heritage dating back to 1879 is seeking a Senior Conference & Events Sales Co-ordinator to join its busy Conference & Events team.

The hotel is a leading city centre venue for high-profile meetings, corporate events, and large-scale functions, including events hosted in its iconic Grand Ballroom.

This role combines sales, event coordination, and team support, with responsibility for managing high‑value enquiries and ensuring seamless delivery from initial contact through to event execution.

Role Overview

You will manage complex conference and event enquiries, convert business opportunities, and coordinate with operational teams to ensure flawless event delivery.

You will also support junior team members and contribute to improving sales performance and service standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage high‑value and complex conference & events enquiries across multiple channels
  • Prepare proposals, quotations, and event packages tailored to client needs
  • Conduct client meetings, site visits, and venue show rounds
  • Negotiate pricing and secure confirmed bookings
  • Coordinate event details with operational teams via function sheets and briefings
  • Ensure accurate diary management and optimal use of event spaces
  • Monitor enquiry pipeline, follow‑ups, and conversion activity
  • Support revenue growth through upselling and repeat business development
  • Assist with competitor analysis and market awareness
  • Maintain accurate CRM and booking system records
  • Support and coach junior Conference & Events Sales Coordinators
  • Contribute to process improvements and performance initiatives

Essential Requirements

  • Previous experience in a conference & events, hospitality sales, or hotel events environment
  • Proven experience in customer‑facing sales, account handling, or event coordination
  • Strong communication skills (written and verbal) with the ability to influence clients
  • Experience managing multiple enquiries and deadlines simultaneously
  • High level of organisation and attention to detail
  • Confident using CRM systems or booking management systems
  • Ability to work effectively with both sales and operational teams
  • Proven ability to deliver excellent customer service in a fast‑paced environment

Desirable Requirements

  • Experience in a 4‑star or 5‑star hotel environment
  • Previous experience handling high‑value corporate or conference clients
  • Background in event sales conversion or revenue management support
  • Experience conducting venue show rounds or client presentations
  • Knowledge of hotel event systems (e. g. Delphi, Opera, or similar platforms)
  • Previous experience mentoring or supporting junior colleagues
  • Understanding of hospitality revenue optimisation techniques
