We have a fantastic opportunity for a Health Safety & Environment Manager to join our Health Safety & Environment Team. We’re looking for someone to support the Head of Health Safety & Environment to promote and strengthen our existing health and safety culture. The Leyland Facility is where the Chicago Town Pizzas started over 30 years ago. We are looking for a dedicated individual with a drive for continually improving processes to join our state-of-the-art production facility and play a key role working alongside our teams who are proudly making the Dr. Oetker and Chicago Town branded pizzas.
Being a key member of the HSE Team, with a direct link with the site wide team you will be responsible for the development, implementation and maintenance of a site wide strategy to deliver a sustainable culture of excellence. Safety is our number one priority and, working alongside our Leyland & Leeds teams your role will be to promote and strengthen our existing health and safety culture. A hands on role with an emphasis and passion for training and audit, we are looking for an enthusiastic, driven and detail conscious individual, combined with HSE knowledge and ability.
At Dr Oetker we believe that our employees play a key role in our success. To help shape our future you will ideally be educated to a minimum of Nebosh Certificate with IOSH membership & desirably IEMA certificate and Nebosh (or equivalent) Diploma. A confident communicator, presenter and influencer with internal and external stakeholders, you will have the ability to demonstrate a high level of energy and commitment necessary to ensure critical and statutory projects are completed on schedule and on time, alongside a proven track record of managing, delegating and inspiring others to take responsibility for HSE.
A proven ability to create and deliver in house training as well as internal audit skills and an understanding of ISO45001 & ISO14001 would be advantageous. The ability to work within a rapidly changing environment is key, being able to maintain working to high standards whilst meeting short term time pressured goals alongside long term strategic objectives, demonstrating practical problem solving and resourcefulness with the ability to make key decisions.
Whilst this is predominantly a days based role, work outside core hours will sometimes be required due to the operating hours of the factory operations, as well as travel to our head office in Leeds and potentially internationally. Liaising with key stakeholders, you will lead efforts to analyse key business drivers and identify, prioritise, plan and deploy improvement initiatives to drive sustainable business results.
