With the option to join on an employed or self-employed basis, this is a flexible opportunity that can be shaped around the right individual. For someone looking to develop further, there is also a supported pathway towards becoming a Financial Adviser within the St. James's Place Partnership.

About The role

You'll provide professional, compliant and client-focused mortgage and protection advice, building trusted, long-term relationships and managing cases from initial enquiry through to completion and beyond.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Providing mortgage and protection advice tailored to individual client needs
  • Completing fact-finds, affordability assessments and appropriate product research
  • Managing mortgage and protection applications through to completion
  • Maintaining accurate client records and compliant file notes
  • Liaising with lenders, providers, solicitors, estate agents and other professionals
  • Keeping up to date with lender criteria, product developments and regulatory requirements
  • Building strong client relationships and developing repeat and referral business
  • Managing your own diary, workload and pipeline

About you

As the Mortgage & Protection Adviser, you'll need:

  • CeMAP 1, 2 and 3, Cert CII (MP), or an equivalent recognised mortgage qualification
  • Experience providing regulated mortgage advice
  • Experience providing protection advice alongside mortgage recommendations
  • A sound understanding of mortgage products, lender criteria and regulatory environment
  • Strong communication, relationship-building and organisational skills
  • The confidence to work independently while contributing to the wider team
  • Full right to work in the UK
  • Suitable professional references that can be contacted and verified
  • Experience managing an existing client bank, developing professional referral relationships or generating new business would be advantageous
