Role Overview: As an Assembly Technician for Intercom and Access Control product ranges, you will be involved in a huge variety of day-to-day tasks, from assembling, configuring and testing door entry access control systems to ensure they are ready to be installed out on site, to preparing products into demonstration and display models, with picking and packing of finished goods into kits for distribution to our customers.
The role requires previous experience of working in a technical environment and performing assembly and end of line testing on electro-mechanical products. You’ll require the ability to communicate well with all parties and process information quickly and efficiently to establish the best outcome for the business. Reporting directly to the Operations Team Leader – BPT Intercom Division, the team will have daily contact with many areas of the BPT Intercom departmental teams.
Responsibilities:
- Returns and repairs – assessing returned items, confirming faults through testing, conducting repairs.
- New System Preparation – Picking components, wiring, ISO9001 compliance, packing and shipping.
- Assembly – Creating Kits, cable looms, preparing products for dispatch.
- Product Configuration – Configuration of systems, maintaining ready configured competent levels.
- Training – Assist in product familiarisation, build work instructions, instruction manuals, creating training equipment.
