Job Description
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Reinforce material presented as needed to support students’ success.
- Assist students in remaining task-focused.
- Provide assistance outside the classroom to prioritize and support academic assignments, vocational hours and campus activities.
- Assist the students to utilize college facilities (library, OIT , tutoring).
- Guide the students towards achieving their work-place objectives.
- Maintain accurate records of students’ progress via weekly journals.
- Escalate any concerns with regard to the student to the program Assistant Director as soon as they arise.
- Maintain student confidentiality at all times.
Minimum Qualifications
- Excellent organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to commit 3 to 15 hours a week during the academic school year.
- Interest in working with students with intellectual/developmental disabilities ages 18-24.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work as part of a team.
- Flexibility and ability to multi-task.
- Completion of a minimum 12 college credits and a 2.5 GPA preferred.
