The Role

We're looking for an enthusiastic and experienced Exercise Tutor to join Camden Adult Community Learning's Health & Wellbeing team. In this rewarding role, you'll deliver engaging, non-accredited beginner exercise classes within community venues across Camden, supporting adults to improve their physical health, confidence and overall wellbeing.

Working closely with community organisations, you'll plan and deliver inclusive courses that meet the needs of local residents, including targeted provision for specific groups such as men aged 50+. You'll create welcoming learning environments that encourage participation, assess learners' starting points, monitor progress and provide constructive feedback to support their development.

Alongside teaching, you'll maintain accurate learner records, complete course documentation and contribute to quality assurance processes that ensure our provision meets Ofsted requirements. You'll also support learners to progress onto further learning or other opportunities by providing advice and signposting where appropriate.

About You

You’ll be an experienced tutor with a passion for supporting adults from diverse backgrounds to improve their health and wellbeing through learning.

You’ll have experience designing and delivering beginner level exercise programmes in community settings and understand how to create inclusive, engaging sessions that meet a wide range of learner needs. You'll be confident working with adults who may be returning to learning, as well as those facing barriers such as physical or mental health challenges, learning disabilities or social disadvantage.

You’ll also bring:

• Experience of teaching non-accredited exercise courses in community settings.
• An understanding of the Education Inspection Framework and Ofsted requirements.
• A commitment to equality, diversity and inclusive practice.
• Knowledge of safeguarding, Prevent and health and safety responsibilities.
• Strong organisational, administrative and IT skills, including maintaining learner records and registers.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with learners, colleagues and community partners.
• The ability to adapt your teaching approach, work independently and respond confidently to the challenges of community-based learning.
