About Camden
Camden is building somewhere everyone can thrive, by making our borough the best place to live, work, study, and visit. Because we’re not just home to UK’s fast-growing economy. We’re home to the most important conversations happening today. And we’re making radical social change a reality, so that nobody gets left behind.
Customer, Technology & Data Services (CTDS) brings together the capabilities that help Camden understand and respond to the needs of our residents, communities and colleagues. We work across organisational boundaries, combining customer insight, digital, data and technology to improve services, solve problems and deliver better outcomes.
What You’ll Be Doing / How You’ll Be Involved
The Head of Technology is a senior leadership role within Customer, Technology & Data Services (CTDS), responsible for the technology services that underpin how Camden operates and delivers services to residents. You will lead a function of around 100 people encompassing IT Service Delivery, including Digital Change, the Schools IT Support Service (SitSS), Infrastructure and Cloud, Networks and Information Security. This includes shaping the future of our hybrid cloud environment and championing our transition to Zero Trust. You will work closely with senior leaders and colleagues across CTDS and the wider Council to turn technology investment into better outcomes for citizens.
All About You
You will be an experienced and credible technology leader, comfortable operating at senior level in a large and complex organisation. You will combine strong operational leadership with the ability to lead significant change, building high-performing teams and creating a culture of collaboration, accountability, continuous improvement and excellent customer service. You will bring broad technology leadership experience and understand how technology can enable better services and organisational outcomes. You will build strong relationships, communicate complex issues clearly and make sound decisions about risk, investment and priorities, while bringing curiosity and ambition about the opportunities created by cloud, Zero Trust, Generative AI and other emerging technologies.

✨Brush Up on Your Technical Skills
For an IT consulting role, be ready to demonstrate your technical prowess. You might face questions on systems integration, cloud technologies, or even troubleshooting specific software. If you have experience with tools like AWS, Azure, or even specific programming languages, make sure you can talk about them fluently.
✨Showcase Your Problem-Solving Approach
